The Budapest Transport Limited decided to rebuild it's HÉV railway to Szentendre. This primarily means the replacement of the safety systems (so a tighter timetable can be arranged for the increasing number of passangers) and the general overhaul of the track and catenary. However, the junction near Aquincum, where the MÁV Budapest-Esztergom line can be accessed is completely rebuilt. This means that trains will be able to go faster on this long section and that during the reconstruction of the MÁV Duna bridge, local trains from Esztergom can use the HÉV station at Kaszásd?l? as a terminus.
The reconstruction work is organized by the German company Wiebe, however a MÁV historic locomotive often appears at similar track-rebuilts. So was here: M61 019 with his brand new paintwork helped moving the cars full of aggregate for the trackbed.
