The hybrid locomotive has two traction motors in the bogies so it has a wheel arrangement of B'B'. It's equipped with massive lithium-ion batteries for regenerative braking that can supply the motors with energy on the city section and on the flatter forest section between Lillafüred and Garadna. At the steeper gradients the diesel engine is used in normal mode. picture
