A modernised track maintenance lorry is parked at Dolny Harmanec station

It doesn't appear a hard climb on the winding track along the side valleys, but by this station the railway is high above the main valley and the road leading to the pass to Horná Stubňa. It is a hard climb on the trek leading to the station from the parking lot below, but despite the gradient, the well-maintained Slovakian 754 locomotives usually don't smoke at all but the sound of their original Škoda engines and the electric traction motors is great.
